Fix for Wii DVD drive rattle noise and related disc read error

Wii optical drive problem?

My son has inserted a SD Card into the Wii self-loading DVD drive. Now it is stuck somewhere inside it and I don't even dare to insert a DVD. Does anyone know any trick to remove it besides shaking the Wii almost like mad? I am trying to avoid opening it or sending it to Nintendo...

You could try holding it upside down, make sure the black flaps are oprn wide enough for the SD card to come through, and use a can of compressed air to blow out the SD card. let wii sit for 10 minutes or so, because the air can cause some condensation on the circuit boards.
if that doesnt work, then you are either going to have to open it or send it to nintendo...if you are stilll under warranty dont open it, just send it in.
