Thoroughly Cleaning a PS2 (or any other) Laser Unit

playing my playstation 2 PLZZ HELP!!?

my playstation 2 keeps freezing in the middle of me playing if i take the game out and blow on it (trying not to think about ghetto ninteno while blowing lol) it will work... so my question is is there anything i can use to clean the laser and not hurt it. i've tryied wiping gently with a cloth and it didn't work.

It might not be your lense that is not working. It might be the arm that holds the lens that is not working. I was having a similar problem and I sent called Playstation. They had me send my PS, which I had to pay for the shipping cost, and they fixed it like new, and they paid for the shipping cost back. It might also be your game has a deep scratch it cannot get past.
