Why does my Playstation do this?

When i turn on my Playstation, the big 80GB, it shows the PS3 logo, then only the background. Like after the PS3 logo dissappears, only the background wallpaper can be seen, and not the XMB screen. Whact can i do to fix it?
I purchased it 2 years ago, its the 80GB

Call sony....... www.ps3.com .......they will replace it for you for free if u have ur warranty....
