50" Class (49.9" Diag.) 490 Series 720p Plasma HDTV vs. 50" Class (49.9" Diag.) 590 Series 1080p Plasma hdtv?
The price of these two are both $899.00. Ones 3d compatible and one isn't. The one that isn't is 1080p. The 3d one is 720p. They are both plasmas. The 3d tv comes with 2 pairs of 3d glasses. I'm wondering which i should get. I like the 3d aspect of the first one, but the second one has better graphics. I don't have hd with cable but i do the ps3 with a hdmi cable. Does 3d work with many ps3 games? Is there many 3d movies that will work with it. Is there any 1080p games? Which would be better to get?
This is an extremely tough situation. Let's start with the 3D model. You have a PS3, so with the latest firmware (3.50), it is a 3D blu-ray player and gaming machine. Most new PS3 games are 1080P, but the 3D ones will only be 720P in Videogames, so your fine there. However, all 3D Blu-Rays are 1080p, so you won't be getting a "Full HD 3D Picture". However, you don't have HD cable service anyway, and cable isn't even 1080p, it only goes up to 1080i. So, if you want a TV that will truly be future-proof, go with the 3D model. However, if you really care about that 1080p Blu-ray issue, go with the 2D version. I would do the 3D version if it was up to me. You will get an amazing picture, if only 720p, and you probably won't tell the difference in blu-ray movies and will definitely not tell in gaming and cable viewing.
