What is Layar 5.0 for Android?
I found this program on my Galaxy S and was wondering what this program does. Is it a game? a search engine? is it a web browser? The web-site said its new features were in 3D and that it was a reality browser (what?) but it was so vague on what it did I wanted to delete the program. 3D? There are many games that are 3D. whoa hooo! 
So now that you have heard my rant before I delete the program can someone please tell me what this program does? And does it charge for usage, it did say it was free to install and not much more?
it's... hard to describe.
Imagine it as... an overlay on the real-world.
Open it, and set it to search for... oh, "pizza". (add a layer with search keyword "pizza")
Now watch it pull up results. Then point the camera and pan it around you. You will see if there are any pizzarias near you, which way, how far, and so on. As you move, the labels will shift with your panning and moving.
Try it with other searches... bar, bookstores, restaurant, supermarkets, produce, gasoline, car mechanic...
Imagine pulling up "tour layer" in a strange city and never needing a guide.
Imagine pulling up a historical layer and see how the building in front of you looked 100 or 1000 years ago.
