How to do play 3D MKV files on my 3D laptop?

I just recently got a 3D laptop that is AWESOME and can play a bunch of 3D trailers and such. Recently though I downloaded a video file that is 17 gb and is a 3D mkv file. However, when I tried playing it on the nVideo 3D player it wouldn't work. Saying something about how it was "Missing a codec". In the download there was also an audio file within the folder too in an MP4 format. I'm guessing it has something to do with the audio codec but I don't get how to make it so I can watch the movie?
