Animation 3d Video Clips
animation 3d video clips

what kind of computer system do I need?
I record allot of huge movie clips so I need a computer with plenty of space since I eat gigabytes up fast, and I need a computer that works well with video and audio since I make movies allot,
I've been doing allot of 3d modeling and digital effects so I need a computer that speeds up the rendering time for animations or just a good computer that would handle huge 3d models...that kind of thing. I am really confused as to what computer I need. I would prefer it if the computer was below a 1000$ but I doubt I can get a good computer for what I need below that price. I was looking at Alienware computers and they seem like something I would need but they're really exspansive and I'm just wandering if I can find something that good for a much cheaper price. I might be able to pay more then 1000$ if it would be worth it.
I would recommend looking into building your own system or at least configuring your own system. There are some good computers out there for less than $1000 but usually it'll have the processor and hard drive you want but not the video card, or vice versa. Building a PC isn't really as hard as it sounds, and if you have even a little bit of tinkering skill you can probably pull it off. Look online for how-to guides to help you.
Now with that said, let's get to the meat of your computer sandwich. If you're looking at processors, a Wolfdale Core 2 Duo procesor such as the 2.53 GHz E7200 which is about $170 on Newegg is a good choice. But I would highly recommend looking into quad-core (Intel, of course
processors, especially Yorksfield quad-cores are also good choices. Both of these processor lines use the 45nm process which reduces power consumption while increasing performance. For $1000, you can certainly get at least 2GB of RAM and I would recommend at least a 320 GB hard drive (I recommend getting 500-750GB, or if you can get a good deal, 1-1.5 TB). And get an Nvidia 8600 GT GPU or better which you can get for around $100-$120.
If you're not into building your own PC, try Dell's small business website. Also, the Cyberpower gaming laptops are a pretty good value as well:

But before starting over, upgrade your RAM and hard drive and perhaps video card as well. This won't really have a noticeable impact on your performance, but once you reinstall Windows along with the upgrades, your system will be blazing. One way is to have two installations of Windows, one for regular gaming, surfing, etc. and then your extreme performance installation with nothing (not even antivirus or firewall, so Internet naturally is a no-no) except for your editing and 3D programs. Hope this helps!
