Computer gaming - framerate is excellent, but keeps lagging/jumping even on single player games..... WTF????!?
ive got this weird problem. my computer was bought for 500 pounds and it was excellent for gaming when it was bought. (call of duty 4, bf2 everything high extra good fps)
now the framerate is still good, but with most of the games i play, my computer displays a strange jumping thing. every so often, the game will jump. not very much, but enough for it to be EXTREMELY ANNOYING. i have updated direct x, reinstalled several different operating systems, in fact iv tryed everything. and when i say it is jumping im not talking about multiplayer lag. im talking about single player too. wtf please help. ive updated video driver too.

ram:2048mb DDR2
processor:amd athlon 64 processor 3200+,MMX, 3D now 2.0ghz
direct x 9.c
video card: nvidia gforce 8500 gt (maybe overheated because of tv tuner right beside it which i just took out.)
video memory 512mb
video driver: nv4_disp.dll (newst one on the whole flippin web)
okay pretty good huh? NO WAY plz help
check the vga card fan and try to clean it and the heat sink
uninstall the driver and install a latest one and maybe u need an extra fan in ur casebox
