Its a very nice cam and brand new, is it good for making profesional videos, i have just gotten a job to record live concerts for satilite TV, but i have to buy my own camera, it HAS to be a good quality picture because i am under contract for five years, Euro 1,000 per concert, but they said if the quality sucks they will deduct my pay down to Euro 500-600 per concert, is this good quality what i have listed above?
in this job, i am not taking photos but i will be on stage running around to get close-up shots, this is a camcorder
i am still in college and i dont think i can afford anything over USD $300-400 untill this job starts paying off
Compare it to the Canon XL-2 and see how it stands up.
The Canon XL-2 is one of the standards used in the mini-DV level of cameras. This camera produces broadcast quality image and is one of the best under $6,000 range. The standard Sony Broadcast cameras (betacams) are in the over $100,000 range so are mostly limited to television broadcasting companies
What I would do before spending a penny would be to attend one of the concerts and see what cameras are being used. This more than anything else will be helpful in determining which camera to invest in.

EDIT .. as long as you avoid using the "digital" zoom, your quality should be okay, but I would hate to see you spend the money on a camera that will not do the job. You may want to rent a suitable camera until you can afford the right one
