What was the name of this video game? (Hint: Nintendo 64)?
I remember there being a 2D platformer for the Nintendo 64.
It was set in Japan. I think there was a level that took place on Mt. Fuji, but I'm not 100% sure.
You could play as multiple characters; one was a fat guy, one was a girl named "Yay" (I don't remember if that's how it was spelled, but that's how it was pronounced). I think there was a guy with blue hair and another small, speedy that was a small robot.
Every so often you would encounter a boss that you would have to fight in a giant robot.
I believe it was the sequel to another Nintendo 64 game, that one being a 3D platformer.
The game was called Goemon's Great Adventure. It was indeed the sequel to a 3D platformer called Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon. Both great games in their own right, but Great Adventure was an awesome sidescroller on a system with so few 2D games
