Need gift and help with electronics for father?

I'm getting my dad a gift. It's either an apple imac or a flat screen 50 inch tv? which one ? I was wondering is the apple imac a touch screen? What would you rate it and would you recommend it ? If you choose TV what kind of brand of TV and no 3d tv because he doesn't want it. Does apple have a flat screen TV for sale? Also would it be a good gift to get a 50 inch tv then a apple imac hardware and a wirless keyboard but with no screen a tv as the screen? Please help its a 50th so its important. If you have any cool ideas for a tv or computer or stuff thats really good write it also! THANKS FOR HELP!

The iMac is a nice computer, but it's expensive for what you get (like all Macs) and it does not have a touch screen (and Apple does not make TVs).

If your dad doesn't use a computer a lot, a TV is probably a better idea (it probably costs less too). And if your dad *does* use a computer, he probably would prefer the type he already uses (so if he currently uses Windows, a new Windows computer would be better than a Mac).

Good brands of TVs are Samsung, Panasonic, LG, Vizio. Some of these TVs include Internet so you can watch YouTube, NetFlix, etc. on the TV.
