Why on earth do LG sell a 3D Ready TV when Sky/Virgin etc. do not offer 3D TV?

What they're doing is saying, "Here folks, buy this TV, it's ready for 3D, but you can't watch the 3D bit cus it's not available, but when it does become available, you can sign up for it! How about that?". But by the time 3D is available, there'll be much better 3D Ready TVs on sale.

I'm in america so I'm not sure how and when 3D is going to available where you are, but for me I can get ESPN 3D by subscribing to Directv and some other cable services right now. Other networks will be out in the next couple years as well as more 3D Blu-rays. It's still early for 3DTV and only the early adopters have it, but there will soon be many more reasons to buy one.
