3D on Non-3D TVs ... ... ...?

I saw something a while back about a company that was developing an external box that took 3D signal and turned it into an advanced form of anaglyph that could be displayed on any TV, and supposedly had little to no color distortion.
Does anyone know the name of this? I couldn't find anything on google.
Edit: ConfuciousSay - the idea is for use with non-3D tvs from sources, like blu ray and games, that obviously don't support anaglyph.
The system supposedly would not distort color at all, or at leat very little like traditional anaglyph does. I say it is similar to anaglyph because it uses colors, possibly similar to Dolby 3D (google it).

Sounds pointless to me. Why would anyone want to take an already 3D signal & turn it into anaglyph, that's kinda backwards in technology. Especially considering all tv's are capable of displaying anaglyph, the only requirement is a source.

Take for instance the new batman arkham asylum game. I was very dissappointed to find out that it wasn't for use with my active shutter glasses, instead the game came with a pair of those red/green cheap glasses for use with anaglyph.

Bottom line, I don't know why anyone would want to spend the money on this sort of technology since what all you really need is just a source of anaglyph imaging, like a $20 movie that's produced for such viewing.

Edit: Anaglyph works on any tv in the world, you just need a movie that was produced with it & the glasses. Dolby is the same stuff they've been using on the projectors for years, still using the color wheels. I get what your saying, but from an economical standpoint I don't know what company would take the risk investing all this money into technology that already exists to another more established franchise. I could buy this new 3d anaglyph converter for say $300 bucks new when it comes out, or I could just spend $20 bucks buying a movie that was recorded in anaglyph, But let's keep in mind that itself never was very popular at home.
